May 27, Lalitpur. Mundhumist Bairagi Kainla, Historian Bhagiraj Innam, Writer Yehang Lavati, Khagendra Makhim jointly released the ‘Limbu Namkosh’ on Saturday. This is the fourth book published by Mundhum Academy Lalitpur.
This Yakthung glossary is in three languages namely Limbu-Nepali-English. Sirijanga script, Devanagari and IPA (International Phonetic Alphabet) are used. So that even non-Limbo speakers can pronounce and understand the meaning of those words. opics such as Limbu caste, language, history, culture, and environment are covered. In the glossary, original interpretation of Limbu name and naming, original and universal meaning of Limbu name in Nepali and English are also given.
The authors have also mentioned the importance of Limbu Namkosh through social and political history. The reason for the existence of the name ‘Limbu’ which refers to the ‘Yakthung’ caste under the Yakthung Limbu name and nomenclature. In Mundhum and history, the original name of Mang-Hang, the campaign to keep the original name by abandoning the distorted name, the style and tradition of naming Limbu, the original name and identity have been discussed.
Similarly, the names of Mundhumi Mang and historical Hang, Mundhumi Pegi Phanghang/Peli Phangsam, Mundhumi Sawa Yethang have been given. Similarly, the names of the eight Apungi kings of the then Fedap kingdom, the names of the historical Thibohng Yakthung/Dashalimbu (chieftains), the names of the historical Thibohng Yakthung Laje (Ten Limbuwan) have been given.
